Saving Tone from Newark – Fosters Save Lives
Remember Tone? July, 2017, we posted a plea for an emergency foster so we could pull him from the Newark, NJ shelter. He was very ill with pneumonia and he wasn’t doing well. Kendell, a NYBC supporter made us aware of Tone and assisted with finding a foster. Mary, Tone’s foster mom, who now calls him Sam, has nursed him back to health and is giving him a stable home environment to flourish in. Sam is now ready to meet his future. Could that be you?
NYBC has been trying to strengthen our foster program so we could help more dogs in need. The Long Island facility is at capacity and foster homes make it possible to save lives. It allows a dog to decompress, get healthy, get used to a home setting before finding the appropriate fur-ever family. We know that at times the heartache of losing your foster pet to an adoption is immense, but by selflessly becoming a foster, you have played the most important role in that dog’s life.
