9/26/18 UPDATE- Saved from death row in Philadelphia, Lawrence was rushed to UPenn for emergency care and stabilization. It was thought that he had parvovirus, but luckily he tested negative. All testing leads to severe malnourishment and starvation. He is emaciated, has pressure sores on his hips, had bloody stool, no muscle mass on his skull. He is in cachectic condition; wasting away. He is severely dehydrated and anemic. Preliminary testing points to starvation. Although it is good news that there isn’t a virus or obvious disease as the culprit, the mystery now is why and how he became so malnourished. Was he deliberately starved? Why did this happen to this poor boy? He is about 2-3 years old and only 24 pounds! He is admitted to UPenn and receiving supportive care.
Saved from Philly ACCT, this is Lawrence. Lawrence was timestamped and is a possible parvo case. He is severely underweight, has pressure sores on his hips, has bloody stool. He is in cachectic condition; wasting away. He is being rushed to UPenn Veterinary Hospital where they are already waiting for Lawrence to arrive. We will know more once they do a complete emergency evaluation. We don’t know why this poor boy is in this condition but we ask that you help us do whatever we can to save him.
