HELP ME GET SEEN & ADOPTED!
This new emergency case is severe and time sensitive. Our NYBC family, @socalbullycrew, was on a leisure trip to volunteer at at town shelter in Ensenada, Baja California with a wonderful SoCal group, The Animal Pad.
As they were working at the shelter a little girl drags this dog in by the armpits. The dog didn’t look good. She had two full casts on the front legs, a cast on 1 back leg and bandages on the other leg. They laid her down on their dirty couch and tried to feed wet food and she seemed extremely out of it and in massive amounts of pain.
A group of people went over and asked what happened. The woman who owns the shelter said she was hit by a car 3 to 4 days ago. The story is “someone” found this dog on the side of the road on their way to Guadalupe Valley, picked her up, and brought her to the shelter. NO vet care was given to this young puppy as they couldn’t afford it so they put the casts and bandages on themselves.
The Animal Pad was distraught and concerned and ensured the safe release into their possession so Baby Enza can receive the best possible medical care stateside. That is when NYBC was contacted and we accepted full medical responsibility and committed to Enza’s immediate emergency care and well-being.
Immediately after crossing the border, Enza was taken directly to at the emergency hospital where we learned that Enza had some medical treatment, such as what appeared to be an at home staple job on one of the legs. Once evaluated, her wounds are far more severe than expected and Enza is being moved again to a local surgeon that TAP has worked with in the past.
Enza is facing multiple surgeries to repair 4 shattered and broken legs, broken ribs, as well as a skin graph on one leg.
She is estimated to be only 8 months old and is a FIGHTER! By the look of the extensive injuries and where they are located, it’s clear this wasn’t an accident, but rather someone did this intentionally by possibly throwing her out of a fast-moving car or rolling over her legs slowly with a car. Whatever happened happened and its in the past and now she has a long road ahead of her but it looks positive and she should live a happy life!
Please support Enza through this. Her emergency medical care is extensive and costly but she has not given up and neither will we!
