Rescue never sleeps. Named after the patron saint of animals, Saint Francis was saved late tonight in Puerto Rico. Our colleague, Nilsa, was notified on Friday, the feast of Saint Francis, that there was an abandoned pit bull locked away and starving. The postmaster would try to feed when he passed the house but this poor by is severely emaciated. Other rescuers were notified, but Francis still remained. Tonight, Saint Francis was freed from his chains and slum by Nilsa and her dedicated rescuers and he will now be taken to get medical treatment and evaluation after he has a good meal and a peaceful night’s sleep. Francis is covered in ticks and clearly is malnourished. We will have more health info after he visits the hospital tomorrow. Please help NYBC help Saint Francis.
