Yesterday we learned of the passing of a friend and we said the next dog we rescued we would honor his name. We introduce you to Shanti. This broken girl has been living in the dirt streets, 7 hours away from Karina. Someone sent her photos earlier this morning and asked if there was anyway to help Shanti. Karina asked NYBC and we said to please go get her. Karina set out on her long journey, praying that she was still in the area. When she finally arrived, Shanti was waiting all alone. She is underweight and has a huge venereal tumor that is causing her pain and deep discomfort. Shanti allowed Karina to handle her, as if she knew she was being rescued. She has dirt encrusted in the tumor, fleas and starving. Karina is still making her long tip back to her sanctuary. Shanti will visit the clinic early tomorrow but until then, she is at least safe. She will need supplements and chemotherapy plus a healthy diet to fight this aggressive condition. Please consider helping Shanti and donating toward her medical care and treatment.
