Emergency midnight rescue in Honduras- Warning: Graphic Images- Melissa received a late call from a boy saying there is a dog below a bridge in a ditch. Reports state that the dog was tossed there from the morning. It took about 5 hours to rescue the female dog and Melissa had to call the Fire Department to assist. The dog has a horrific leg wound and she was rushed the the emergency clinic. It is suspected that the leg wound was intentionally inflicted and it is severely infected. She is very scared and in pain. She has to be sedated to have the wound cleaned and to evaluate. She will have to be hospitalized for at least 2 months for daily wound care and treatment. She was named Marvela because it is a miracle that she is alive. She is also malnourished and shows signs of abuse.
