7/19/2018 Update- She is named Hemera after the goddess of daytime. Hemera has an inguinal hernia which is a condition in which the abdominal contents protrude through the inguinal canal or inguinal ring, an opening which occurs in the muscle wall in the groin area. She also has a sticker tumor- A transmissible venereal tumor which is a naturally occurring tumor that is sexually transmitted from one dog to another. Intact, free roaming dogs are at greater risk of acquiring and spreading this disease. Hemera will need hernia surgery and chemotherapy to give her comfort and control and eradicate the cancer.
This small female was rescued off the streets of Peru by our colleague, the same rescuer that saved Punky, Peppina and Olympus. She has two MASSIVE tumors and she is bleeding. Stay tuned for more details. Please donate to this emergency rescue as we have taken on many extreme cases and we need your help right now.
