3/20/19 ~ With a heavy heart, we must announce that we received sad news that gentle Salma has crossed the rainbow bridge. Salma was tired and her body was so broken that she couldn’t fight any longer. We are told that her organs began to shut down and that she is now at peace. We are heartbroken but take solace in knowing that she knew kindness and dignity in her last days. We hope that she chose to leave us because she finally knew love and was ready to play with the angels. Rest easy beautiful girl and may heaven be the most beautiful place to run free. You are loved.
Saved off the streets of Mexico, this is Salma. After multiple social media pleas to help this poor girl, NYBC was able to connect with the rescuers and commit to the care of Salma. Salma was found on the side of the road, dragging herself, starving and with a large, visual mass on the side of her abdomen. We do not know if she is pregnant or has a tumor, but she was rescued off the streets and receiving an evaluation and medical treatment. She has severe urine burns on her belly, very malnourished and her back paws are wounded from dragging herself. We will update as we receive info. Please be kind and help us get Salma the care and treatment she needs.
