8/2/2018 – With deep sadness we announce that Punky has crossed the rainbow bridge late last night. Punky passed surrounded by the unconditional love of his rescuer and caregiver and his little feline friend. Punky survived long enough in the streets until he was finally rescued and given the love and respect he deserved. Karina erased the loneliness and replaced it with kindness and compassion. We will carry Punky and his surviving spirit in our hearts and continue to help the dogs of Peru proudly in his honor. Thank you to everyone that supported Punky’s care and prayed for him. Punky, run and play like a puppy again with the angels.
You are loved deeply.
Rest in beautiful peace.
On the streets of Peru, there laid this sad boy, Punky. People walking by him, stepping over him and at times throwing water at him to make him move. They did not want to look at him, to see the grave condition he is in. His eyes reinfected, swollen and distorted. He is severely malnourished and is starving. And he is covered in tumors, lumps everywhere. Flies are feasting on his open wounds.
Tonight on of our followers reached out to NYBC for help. We could not turn our backs on Punky, He reminds us so much of our dear Naji. Our follower told the young woman that found the dog to go back to rescue him off the street. He is now in custody with the young woman. Punky will be taken to the hospital tomorrow to receive immediate treatment and care. But tonight, he is eating and safe, surrounded by love.
Please help us help Punky.
