ABOUT ME:

February 16, 2019 ~ Rest in peace beautiful Priscilla. May your bright smile light our way. Run and play with the angels and wait for us so we can cross that rainbow bridge together. You are loved.

And in our time of grief, we come together to celebrate the beautiful life of a very special dog…OUR DOG, Priscilla.

“Priscilla, baby girl I am having trouble writing this. I can’t even try to explain how much you have touched my life. Working in rescue we are not supposed to have favorites but you, you were one of mine. Our little monkey butt the one you could count on to pick you up when you were down, such a strong dog yet she was so in-tune with the people she loved, she was always happy to be there with you, just trucking along through life. This dog deserved everything she could have dreamed of and I’m sorry we couldn’t give that to you. You are so beyond loved by so many people. Here are their last goodbyes-”

“Oh Scilla, I could go on and on but she was the sweetest big girl. A true staff favorite. Not everyone got to see the loving, goofy side of her.. and anyone who did, knew how truly special she was! She was always down for a love sesh fulla kisses and pats. She loved playing in her pool during the summer, rocked a coat better than any person possibly could during the winter, and was the queen of catching treats. She was certainly considered family to me. Watching her interact with the staff that she loved and the fur-friends she made along the way is something I’ll always carry in my heart. I love you always, Priscilla Gorilla.”

“Working at a dog rescue is an amazing experience because you get to touch and change the lives of so many dogs, as well as have all the love in your heart be stolen by one in particular, but it becomes a heartbreaking experience  when the good girl you loved so much passes in the shelter, you feel like you failed her. She deserved better, a family to love her in her last moments. I love you to the moon and back Monkeybutt, I’m so sorry you never got your furever”

“On November 7th, 2014 I got a call from Craig asking if we would help out and foster a new mama dog that had been abandoned in a back yard along with her 3 puppies. Of course we said yes and picked them up right away. Mama had no name yet so on our way home when we turned the car on Elvis Presley was singing a way on the radio and I turned to mama and said that’s your name beautiful, Priscilla. She gently licked my face and I was immediately in love. Priscilla spent a little over 6 weeks in our home. Side by side her and I raised her 3 gorgeous babies. To be honest she wasn’t the biggest fan of Jay for a bit. He had to put in work and gain her trust. As who knows the horrors she had endured before coming to us. I was the lucky one to be her person from day one. I felt so honored that she trusted me so much. Jay would get jealous because I was allowed to lay in her space with her and her 3 babies. It took time be he eventually gained her trust as well and also reaped the benefits of tons of love from our big red girl; whom once she loved you she loved you with all that she was. She would be full body wagging with a big smile on her face any time we were near. She was my first mama dog that I fostered and the reason I fell in love with fostering mama dogs and their pups. I will never forget my big red girl. She will always have a piece of my heart. I love you Priscilla I’m heartbroken that you left us so soon. But I know when my time comes I’ll see you on the bridge with that big ole smile you wore so well. RIP baby girl.”

“Priscilla, the beautiful Monkey Butt, was a favorite of mine. Her sweet personality and funny smile could melt your heart. She deserved the best home with a family that adoreD and spoiled her, and I’m so sorry she was never given that happy ending. But what she did have was a rescue family that loved her with all of our hearts, and always will. Rest easy Priscilla.”
