HELP ME GET SEEN & ADOPTED!
UPDATE 11/7/2017 – Today is a sad day for NYBC. Broken hearted we must announce that dear, sweet Autumn is now running with the angels. We have been asking ourselves how and why did this happen? Why was she taken from us? We have no words to describe the heartache right now. We don’t have any answers. Please continue to pray for her so that she knows how very much she is loved. Thank you all for your kindness and compassion. There will be an autopsy performed by Cornell to give some answers and possible closure. We can only hope that the love you have for Autumn will heal us all and give us strength to continue.
UPDATE 11/3/2017- AMPUTATION NEEDED! After consulting with all doctors and surgeons, the safest and most effective form of treatment is to amputate Autumn’s right leg. She has severe trauma to her right leg, her road rash is bad that she would require multiple skin grafts and leaves her susceptible to infection. By amputating, the extensive pelvis break on the right side would be taken care of also. This course of treatment would allow Autumn a faster recovery and less intense recovery. She is still at UPenn but she will be transported to Grady Animal Hospital for surgery. She is in rough shape but is in the most capable hands and is comfortable and safe.
Currently, Autumn’s wounds are being treated with wet/dry bandage care, she is on aggressive opioid pain medication and she has a urinary catheter as she cannot mobilize to urinate yet. She is still dehydrated but her vitals are stable.
She will remain sedated and medicated for her severe pain. Thank you for the support you have shown her this far. Luckily her vitals are stable and she is in great hands. She has 2 fractured hips but preliminary sonograms show internal organs are stable. Unfortunately her wounds are severely infected but she is currently on aggressive IV antibiotics. We will update as soon as we receive more info.
UPDATE 11/2/2017- She’s being treated now and receiving emergency care: IV fluids, having her multiple wounds cleaned and cared for and tick infestation removal. She has had x-rays which have shown multiple fractures and we are waiting on the sonogram results to see if there’s any damage to her liver and/or kidneys. Pending the sonogram results if she needs 24 hour care she will have to be moved to a 24 hour specialty hospital such as UPenn.
We need your help – please donate to this emergency case.
The hospital is in Glenside PA, so it is not one of our affiliated clinics. Autumn needs emergency care ASAP! Please contribute and help us help her. Thank you.
