This is Miss Nala. Nala absolutely loves kids and people of all ages. She greets everyone with a great big smile and just loves to be in the company of people. Nala really deserves a home to spoil her. She has her own custom wheel cart and loves to go for long strolls. We know Nala’s family is out there, we hope you become her hero soon!
Nala is about 5 years old. She was rescued from the streets of Puerto Rico. One day, Nala was found lying without any mobility in her lower body and full of ants. She was slowly dying. Apparently, she was hit by someone causing her a spine fracture. Nala was found with low hemoglobin and intestinal parasites as result of her bad nutrition and malnourishment. Nala was evaluated by 2 of the best surgeons on the island and both confirmed that she had a little chance to walk again since she had no deep pain perception on either hind legs and were completely flaccid reflecting a severe muscle atrophy.
Someone recommended a chiropractor and she started her treatment on the island. Nala has been under laser therapy and vertebras adjustment. After a while , Nala started to feel and have some minor movements in one of her hind legs. After months of therapy, she gained strength in her upper body and started to get around easier.
Due to her good progress the chiropractor was very optimistic and happy and he recommended acupuncture and aqua therapy but there is no facility on the island for that kind of therapy.
Nala makes use of her wheelchair very well loves meeting new people!
