Our newest rescue, Joey, is a sweet two-year-old boy who needed our help. An urgent plea was sent out regarding Joey by Miami Dade Animal Services. He was brought in as a stray in poor condition, and the shelter staff said that Joey has tested positive for the tickborne illnesses Ehrlichiosis and Anaplasmosis. He is also heartworm positive. We have stepped in and committed to saving and caring for Joey. He has left the shelter and is currently at the veterinary hospital, where he will receive a complete medical evaluation.
