Rosie’s Story

Rosie has survived the unimaginable. Now she’s fighting for her life again, and she needs us.

In March 2021, we rescued Rosie after she endured some of the most unthinkable abuse imaginable.

Since the earliest days of her life, Rosie was raped and brutalized, every single day.
One day, a brave soul found out what was happening and alerted authorities. Rosie was finally confiscated from her abuser.

When she arrived in our care, Rosie had to undergo invasive testing. Swabs confirmed the presence of human DNA, irrefutable proof of the horror she had endured. For the first time in our rescue’s history, the perpetrator was sent to jail.

Rosie’s story of survival moved thousands. Rosie found a loving home, where she was finally safe. Finally loved.

But now, Rosie’s life hangs in the balance again.

Just a few days ago, she became lethargic and stopped eating. She was rushed to the vet, where bloodwork and X-rays revealed severe neutropenia and pneumonia - a life-threatening combination.

She was immediately transferred to a 24-hour emergency hospital - the only facility equipped to save her, and also the most expensive. Her loving family maxed out their credit cards trying to save her life. Out of desperation, they turned to us once more.

We couldn’t say no.

After everything Rosie has been through, everything she has survived, we could not let her fight this alone.

But now, the hospital is urgently demanding another $4,000, or they will be forced to discontinue her treatment.

We are heartbroken. And we are out of time.

Rosie deserves more than this. After all the trauma, all the healing, all the love she's found, this cannot be the end of her story.
