Eamon’s Story

Last year, we rescued Eamon after we received a call on our hotline about a dog who was being abused.

The person was able to have Eamon surrendered to her, and reached out to us for help.

Eamon suffered from blunt force trauma and had a deep wound from the abuse.

Fast forward to today, Eamon has now fully recovered and has been adopted to a wonderful home.

Recently, Eamon started to have issues with one of his eyes; it is teary, his depth perception is off, and he is really sensitive to light.

Eamon was referred to an ophthalmologist specialist

The vet found that he has a mass on his eyelid that needs to be removed, as well as a major chronic cataract, which means he’s completely blind in his right eye.

Sadly, this means that he is at high risk for glaucoma in the future, and that this was most likely caused by the past trauma to his eye.

The specialist wants to perform a Cryosurgery to remove the growths.

The surgery consists of: an IV sedation and topical anesthetic to freeze the tumor cells at the base, remove them and debunk the mass. The growths will then be sent for a biopsy, to see if they are benign.

The surgery will cost thousands of dollars, and unfortunately, the specialist who performs this type of surgery works at a veterinarian hospital that does not give our 501(c)3 rescue organization a discount.
