collette’s Story
We are absolutely heartbroken.
Out in rural Texas, there’s a place where dogs are treated like trash. Where people dump them, leave them to starve, and worse, where some shoot them.
Strays are everywhere.
A mama dog and her puppies were found. Two babies were already missing.
One injured pup, Collette, couldn’t keep up. She was left behind and rescued alone on July 4th, terrified, and in pain.
She needed emergency surgery.
Despite a warning from another
rescuer, she was taken to the same vet who botched Ranger’s surgery, as the other veterinarian were closed.
Just like Ranger, Collette’s surgery was also botched.
Instead of draining the infection, the vet stitched it inside her leg. Her stitches tore open. The infection is spreading. She’s now in critical condition, with a large open wound, needing daily emergency care just to survive.
The rescuer came to us in a last, desperate plea for help. The vet has been reported to the state board, but that won’t save Collette.
This is her only chance.
