Hunkah’s Story

A year and a half ago, we rescued Hunkah after he was saved by the 102 Precinct in Queens.

Hunkah lived his entire life chained up outside, but despite everything, he was such an incredible dog. Hunkah loves everyone, and other dogs as well.

Hunkah is very handsome, and to no surprise, everyone wanted him. Hunkah was quickly adopted by a couple.

However, last week, we received a distressed call from the woman: Hunkah was at the shelter and they were going to euthanize him.

We then learned that the couple had split up, and the man gave Hunkah to his ex-girlfriend, who then moved away.

The ex-girlfriend couldn’t handle him, as Hunkah became protective over her. She then gave Hunkah away to someone else.

Three weeks later, Hunkah was brought to the shelter, to whom his “new owner” lied, resulting in Hunkah being placed on death row.

The new owner told the shelter that he found Hunkah outside and that he was aggressive.

As we previously stated, Hunkah was the sweetest dog, and he loves other dogs.

Although we don't know what our poor Hunkah went through since he was adopted, our hearts are broken. None of this should have ever happened.

We are glad that Hunkah is back with us, and we promise him that we will find him the best possible family.
