Don’s Story

Our sweet boy, Don , is ready for his forever home!

We rescued Don in January 2024, after he was hit ny a car and brought to the shelter, unable to move. Don was in about to be euthanized, and we thankfully stepped up.

Don is currently in a foster home, where he has been healing beautifully.

A few weeks ago, Don was fitted for a custom brace and a wheelchair.

Don is currently handicapped and cannot walk due to a brachial plexus injury from being hit by a car, which resulted in permanent damage. We hope that over time, when Don gets used to his wheelchair and brace, he gets enough strength in his right front leg to support himself without the wheelchair.

Don is an incredible dog regardless of his condition and would make any family happy. Don brings out a smile in everyone who meets him.

We are forever grateful to his foster mom, Sami, for going above and beyond for him.

Don might need extra care at the moment, and although it might not always be rainbows and butterflies to take care of a special needs dog, the love and smiles it brings overcome the work needed.

Don is simply the best boy; he loves everyone, kids, and other dogs, and will most likely be great with cats.
