Cali’s Story

We rescued Cali in December 2022, after she was surrendered to us by a breeder in Miami.

She arrived covered in excrement and dragged out of the breeding facility with a catch pole. She was also still lactating.

Cali lived in a kennel her entire life and was only let out to be bred. Once she gave birth, her puppies were taken, their ears were cropped, and they were sold at a hefty price.

Cali was used as a money-making machine and never learned how to be a dog. She never learned how to live in a home, or what it felt like to be loved.

Then, Cali came to New York in January 2023, where she was rapidly adopted.

Sadly, the adopter came to the rescue to let us know that he had issues with potty training Cali. We offered to help with training, which was declined, as they are now moving in a month and cannot take Cali.

Cali is a very sweet and loving dog. All she needs is a family that will understand her needs, and have the patience to keep up with her training.

Cali is a doll. She loves to give hugs and kisses, and loves people and other dogs.
